Okay so I'm afraid I but I don't know a good pair of shoes as until I started researching recently I thought ECCO were great quality. I have numerous pair and all are all more comfortable than any shoes I previously owned and they have held up very well to daily wear for 3 years.
Anyway I go on saltwater fishing trips around California at least once a month and I always spend one day sightseeing and trying new restaurants, especially when I am in the San Francisco Bay area - which only 2 hours away from my home in Sacramento, CA.
I like to pack light, so it like to pack one pair of black Chukkas for sightseeing and for dinner. It needs to be comfortable for miles of walking, but can be worn in the evening for dinner with a pair of chinos and a sport coat.
The truth is, of the matter is, I'm not into fashion and I try to avoid suits - my main goal is comfort and timeless good looks at a moderate price.
By the way my budget is $300> and I prefer that they be recraftable.
Your help will be greatly appreciated!
