Nantucket Reds with black shoes?

I have noticed that my black bit loafers are not getting as much use as I would like them to, so I am venturing to find them some new uses.

I have heard it mentioned a few times that black Gucci loafers and nantucket reds are a "classic" combination. My gut instinct for pairing reds is usually tan/cognac (or white bucks, of course).

Can anyone provide some examples of how to successfully pair nantucket reds with black shoes?
