Took advantage of today's corp sale to snag the new C&J "Marlows" for Peal as well as the BB cord LHS. I wear loafers for work quite a bit as I travel regularly, so inclined to keep the LHS. Two questions on fit before I do, though:
1) my forefoot is relatively snug, and ball of my foot fits nicely in the widest part of the shoe, but the motion of the shoe is giving me some heel slip on one foot. I think it's because the sole is stiff - any wisdom from the board? Famous last words, perhaps?
2) the right-hand corner of the shoe - between tongue and body - seems to be catching a bit of my foot. It's a little snug over the whole instep but that area is disagreeing with the shoe mildly. This is common for me in loafers and they have all stretched, but they've all been calf. Can I expect some give, between the footbed and the upper both stretching?
Many thanks for your experiences with the LHS. For reference, I wear an 8e in Park Ave, and a 8d in Barrie (7.5 too short, 8 a bit too long) - feel like the Van should work at 8.
