Boots with tweed, or other fabric

mercredi 5 août 2015

With summer here looking like it's passed, I'm thinking ahead and looking for a winter boot.

I thought I had decided on the Herring Langdale, a sturdy brogue boot made by Cheaney, but in the past few days have been side-tracked by the Herring Exmoor, also made by Cheaney.

Though undoubtedly a good looking boot, I'm just wondering about the practical, and also aesthetic concerns of mixing tweed with the more traditional leather on a country boot which will be worn in all weathers.

Is it like putting low profile tyres on a Range Rover. Something that might look cool but is ultimately pointless?
Basically, would it score any points over on the trad forum?
