I wear an odd jacket most days, but when it gets cold I don't always know what to wear on top.
I own a heavy vintage Hickey Freeman single-breasted overcoat for the coldest months. However, I don't always want to wear such a heavy and formal coat. I have tried a couple "topcoats" but find that they tend to be cut too slim for my shape -- even if I size up.
So, what does Ask Andy recommend? Should I get a topcoat that fits without a jacket underneath, or get something else like a duffle coat or pea coat?
