Madison fit BB linen suit arrived the other day in my usual size. The jacket is a tad tighter than usual, but I am several tads heavier than I have ever been before. Nevertheless, the jacket fits well by all of the usual measures save, perhaps, one. The lapels do not bow when the jacket is bottomed, but one of them has a subtle "break," which is to say that it does not drape perfectly over my barrel chest. It's most perceptible when I try to stand with impeccable posture--something I generally do only while trying on new jackets.
I am contemplating ordering a 43 (+1 and my usual size in the Fitzgerald), but I plan on dropping the weight and, in any event, suspect that this is more a function of the fabric (Baird McNutt linen) than the fit. Is there some way to impart drape or impose curvature upon a recalcitrant lapel?
