There is no doubt that most Greeks today ( I am Greek-American, born in Houston but raised in Athens ,Greece) are dressed like slobs. There used to be a time though, between 1930s and the end of 60s , that Greek men used to dress really sharp. My plan is , over the next few days ,to post pictures of mostly men ( but a few women as well) from that era, to discuss Greek tailors of today and to share my personal story (mainly discovering two weeks ago that my mother's first cousin, is a retired master tailor!).
Now, I do not have any experience wearing suits (have two BB 1818 in order) so from the pictures that I will post, I welcome feedback as far as fit goes or whatever else.
Mind you that most of the men in the pics that you will see, are now diseased Greek actors so please comment respectfully (not that I thought that you wouldn't). Also, these men, were not highly paid like Cary Grant or Gary Cooper but they were trying to make ends meet, often having to pay for their own clothes.
First, one of my favorite actors , Mr. Alekos Alexandrakis
