Having Trouble with Shoe Trees for AE Patriots

dimanche 6 septembre 2015

I recently purchased a pair of the AE Patriot in Burgandy from the shoebank. The AE full-toe shoe trees that were sent with the shoes were too wide to fit in the shoes (I have a narrow foot, size 12B), so I used a pair of the Woodlore combination trees. Unfortunately these trees seem to have created a crease/discoloration in the heel of the loafers - it looks like a black line running vertically down the heel. Would the Woodlore Epics be a better choice for loafers due to the fuller heel? Additionally, I have ordered a pair of the Park Avenues in Oxblood - should I be concerned about using the Woodlore combination trees in them? I've used the AE combination trees in my black Park Avenues for two years and they've worked great, and from what I understand these trees are identical to the Woodlore combinations. I just thought the discoloration/crease in the Patriots might be an issue found in a burgundy shoe that you wouldn't see in a black shoe.
