I have a final interview coming up and the only reason I'm asking questions is because this is a slightly different situation. I'm interviewing with an old-line tech company (think IBM/HP) for a position that would be managing one very conservative financial services account. There have been multiple phone interviews but this meeting is specifically to see "if you're a good fit for the customer." I'll be wearing a very nice solid navy suit and white shirt. I'm just trying to flesh it out.
1) I want to buy a (very!) conservative tie. I'm thinking a repp stripe. I tried Nordstrom and they had nothing I wanted. I don't really feel like gallivanting all over the city today. Who is an excellent online seller of ties? Buying a tie online worries me because you can't feel the weight of the tie to see if is has that "substantial" look and feel that comes with a great tie. Does anyone have a great suggestion for an online store?
2) The shoes (here we go): I know we talk about the black cap-toe oxfords (which I do not have, but I do own some close facsimiles.) I also have a pair of burgundy long wings with the black double-sole. In my mind, these SCREAM "conservative banker" and being the big guy that I am (6'3/265), I'm thinking they may work. Thoughts?
I know we're gong to beat the shoe thing around all day and I look forward to the discussion but the interview is Thursday I need to place the tie order ASAP. Help!
