who sells a good bulky cardigan for curling up with a book and a brandy?

I'm looking for a good, bulky cardigan for something less that $300! It doesn't need to be cashmere. I don't give a rat's patootie about designer names. Don't even talk to me about 'slim fit' :mad2: I'm pushing seventy and want a warm sweater I can curl up in front of the fireplace in. I've got one good one from BB in navy but I want another. There are some gorgeous ones out there but who pays $700 for a damned sweater? Ridiculous! Anyway, I've looked at J. Crew, BB, Orvis, Bean, Macy's and Nordstrom's. Everything is cotton or really drab. A little color is welcome. Any suggestions?
