I am attending an institutional investor conference in NYC tomorrow. Dinner the night before is "business casual" and the conference is "business smart." What is "business smart"? I did some searching on Google and found conflicting results, and I did not get the complete answer I desired when searching this forum.
Most conferences I attend are suit and tie, with a jacket but no tie also being OK but the minimum (myself and my peers are the clients after all in these settings).
I originally planned on wearing a suit and tie, but I'm thinking I may be overdressed for "business smart" with my tie. Any insights out there? Thanks.
