While I'm not big on the sockless thing, there are times I'd like to go sockless

When I was young and lived in SoCal, I often wore shorts and boat shoes sockless, especially when I was sailing. However, most of us wore crew socks with sneakers and shorts (at least in my world). Now, I'm 65 and live in the intermountain west. While my legs are in pretty good shape and my ankles are trim, I no longer have hair below where I wear socks and, accordingly, my ankles and the area under crew sock length is pale white. I wouldn't mind wearing shorts with boat shoes and no socks again but, honestly, with the pale white ankles, it looks ridiculous. Any other geezers here with this problem and, if so, what do you do? Not sure of an easy way to tan that area as I no longer sunbathe.
