I usually post on the trad forum but figured I'd get more traction on this topic here.
I'm in the market for another suit, mostly because I have a job that requires me to wear a suit daily. I'm also applying to MBA programs this year, and anticipate having to wear a suit regularly for networking events, interviews, etc.
I want a real "workhorse" sort of suit to add to the rotation to help get me through the next couple of years, and for that reason want to get a spare pair of trousers to rotate between. I have a MTM Southwick with two pairs of trousers and was disappointed to see that it's very hard to find OTR suits for sale with two pairs.
It looks like the Brooks Bros. "suiting essentials" separates model is my best choice, as I can buy the jacket + the two trousers for a reasonable price. Ede and Ravenscroft in the UK also sell suits with 2 trousers, but they don't seem to have my size (41L).
Also thinking about the Samuelsohn "Gable" model, which I think can be had OTR with a separate pair of trousers ordered, but this may be out of my price range.
I'd love to get another MTM suit or go with Southwick but my means are limited for now. I'd love to hear if anyone has other suggestions. As it stands it seems like Brooks Bros. is my best bet.
Suit with 2 pairs of trousers for no more than ~$1,000?
