I'm in the market for a new overcoat, preferably in the $500-$1000 range. I already have a few topcoats/overcoats in different colors, but they're mostly JAB or similar quality--good enough, but probably not cut out for the coldest days or worst storms here in NYC. One option I'm considering is Brooks Brothers, (something like this, perhaps) although their items are fairly pricey, even though I would want to wait for a 40% off promotion.
Since I'm spending what, to me at least, is a pretty decent chunk of change on a coat, I'd expect it to hold up for quite a few years. Given that this is more of a long-term investment, then, I'm more than willing to wait a few months for a good deal. Any suggestions for something warm, reliable, and in my price range?
Also, FWIW, I'm looking for something in a full length.
