Do you get recognition for your trad style?

vendredi 11 septembre 2015

I'm curios about some of your experiences. Trad, from what I've learned so far, is an under the radar style! With the exception of the madras design which stands out and draws attention, you'll generally be low key even though you're dressed well. Simple, but expensive quality watch, vs. the humongous one worn by rap artists.

So I wonder if you guys get noticed for your wonderful style of dressing. How often do you get complimented? What do people say about your style (assuming they even notice it). The average person really goes by what they see and neglect some of the finer details that a well trained pair of fashion eyes will pick up. Cuffs are just cuffs and khakis are just khakis. Some of the rules we abide by aren't a big deal to people outside of our arena. So they only judge based on colors. Many people consider it dressy when they see someone wearing any suit. But they won't consider things like brand that we here might use as a judging criteria.

I get complimented quite often for my style. I fall in the age group of 18 - 26 so I tend stand out (unintentionally). I don't ever "dress" w/ sneakers; Only use them for work and rec activities. Jeans are worn about 3x a year! I tuck in quite often and 2/3 of the time I'm wearing shoes. I've been told I dress really well by some people in my own age group. Another person pointed out that I go for "old men's clothing" which I believe is a win & took as a compliment!

What about you guys?
