Patent and Suede

Normally I'd be a little wary about mixing my exotics - but these patent / suede shoes by Herring kind of catch my attention. Primarily I'd be thinking of them as something to add a slightly different look to evening wear (I'm conservative in evening wear; normally black patent shoes, single-breasted peak lapel DJ, black tie, black silk low-cut evening waistcoat, marcella shirt and onyx or mother of pearl studs). For another look, I thought of wearing them as father-of-the-groom for my son's forthcoming wedding. It will be an outdoor, daytime, summer affair and I'm wearing a mid to dark blue birdseye single breasted suit. (I will also be conducting the ceremony).

I'd be interested in thoughts on the shoe and the possible combinations.
