Chunky Knit Shawl Cardigan -- Most Versatile Color

Looking to add a chunk shawl collar cardigan to my wardrobe. I've been warned that my (new) office gets especially chilly in the winter, so I thought this would be a great versatile piece to add to my wardrobe. Only question is, what is the most versatile color? Wearing the typical variety of colors of chinos, cords, moleskins and (god forbid) denim most days.
