Why cheap shoes are so expensive

mercredi 4 novembre 2015

A few years ago, my feet hurt all the time and had for years. I had always worn cheap shoes - usually Adidas Sambas in my off hours and cheap Clarks at work. I tried to solve the problem with "comfort" shoes, including some truly hideous ones. Then I bought orthotic insoles - first Superfeet, later Archmolds that you mold to your feet and wore soft rubber soled shoes. They did help, but along the way I ended up getting into quality Goodyear-welted shoes - mostly Allen Edmonds, some vintage Hanovers, and eventually some British. I wore those more and more often.

Today, my regular rotation is all Dainite-soled shoes. I just realized I no longer have foot pain. I never wear my orthotic shoes anymore apart from a pair of loafers I wear around the house or sockless in summer. I no longer need soft rubber heels. In fact, I now suspect all those soft shoes were the cause of my pain.
