Quick question - sorry I can't seem to get the answer through search results...
When is the right time to add toppies to the soles of new shoes? I've got a pair of new cordovan bluchers that I've only worn a few times, but I'm planning to taking a trip to New York this winter. I want to be ready for walking around the city in less than ideal conditions.
Is it preferable to wait a bit until the shoes are broken in before taking them to a cobbler to have toppies installed? Or is better to do it when the shoes are new and before the sole is worn? (Is it ever too late to add toppies)?
Thanks for any advice
Toppies - when to add to soles? Right away, or after break-in?
