Surcingle belt (surcingle type); Are Tan and/or Dark Brown useful?

I am heading to L.L. Bean after work today and was considering picking up a Surcingle belt (surcingle type anyway). I have Navy Blue already and wear it quite frequently. How useful would either a Tan or Dark Brown color be? I'm thinking I could wear the Dark Brown in all situations that I would opt for a Dark Brown leather belt.

Any thoughts? Not buying either is also an option....
