It seems to be a thing with some men but aside from boat shoes when you're boating, to people like me (65, conservative dresser), it looks ridiculous. I'm talking about wearing shoes like penny loafers and similar as I've seen in some pictures here. I don't know what people are thinking with this look but it's not only silly looking, it's rather unhygienic.
There are too many great socks to wear without resorting to this bizarre fashion trend.
College age kids can be forgiven and can pull off the look better than you guys who are now in your 30's, 40's, 50's, and beyond.
All in my opinion, of course.
