Hello everyone.
I would appreciate it if people could comment on the durability of specific types of trousers, namely those in the Andover Shop/Ben Silver/O'Connell's/Bill's Khakis/J Press type of price range. Particularly I was wondering how many years one would expect the following types of trousers to last if one were to wear each of these trousers roughly once a week during the 20 or so coldest months of the year:
Flannels (both woolen and worsted)
Cavalry Twills
Donegals
Shetland trousers (as in those offered by O'Connells)
Moleskins
If people could include why these respective types of trousers only last as long as they do (the trousers have an abrasive fabric that rubs up against itself, the fabric is delicate so it is easily torn, pilling, the fabric lacks natural stretch (etc)) that would be great.
Additionally, if people could comment on the relative merits of the brands listed earlier (assuming they do indeed vary significantly) that would also be much appreciated.
Thanks.
