Chukka for summer casual

jeudi 19 novembre 2015

I have a good selection of dress shoes. Unfortunately, I don't wear them that often because my workplace is very casual.

I've got my winter shoe rotation pretty much down. I rotate a RM Williams Blaxland (black Kangaroo), Allen Edmonds Long Branch, and Alden Indy. On days it's really nasty out, I'll wear a more beater pair of Blundstone chisel toes.

That works great from September to June for the Seattle climate, but I need more help for the summer. Right now I'm mainly switching between a pair of Sebago Horween Docksides and Superga Classics. I do rotate in a pair of brown suede driving mocs and some stone bucks, but I'm not super happy with any of them as shoe for work.

I think a chukka in a lighter suede color might fill that gap pretty well. If money were no object, I'd simply get the Alden unlined Chukka and call it a day. But unfortunately money is an object. At the top end of my budget I'm considering Meermin:

At the lower end of the budget I'm considering LL Bean (and yes I know this would probably be classified as a desert boot):

Are there any others I should be looking at? The Meermins are $235 and that's about the most I would be wanting to spend.
