Hi,
I recently started a new job where I'm actually wearing a tie to work every day. I have a pretty spare wardrobe, and I'm curious what sort of essentials I can add that would be very versatile. Here's where I'm at right now:

In following this minimalist guide at Dappered, I purchased that burgundy and navy pinstripe tie. My only wearable tie until about a week ago was that navy one in the center.
I really enjoy the patterned shirts I have, they're BB mini-check, graph check, and houndstooth. I should probably consider purchasing some solid shirts as well.. I was hoping I could postpone that by adding a few ties into the rotation. However it's a bit silly to only have three good shirts for the work-week. The supima oxford in the back is a bit worn, and I've come to favor the non-irons instead. I'm a bit strapped for cash, so whatever purchases I make, I want to be for wardrobe essentials.
I've had a hard time finding ties that would work with the small check patterns. Seems like stripes might be best in order to add contrast. I've been thinking a navy knit or pindot tie might work, less sure about the pindot, though. Found a lot of great suggestions in this "essential ties" thread, for the record.
My grey and khaki pants are Gap "lived-in" khakis. They worked in my previous job but now they feel a bit lackluster. I may need to find a source for nice pants, and have never done much research here. My first stop is usually Brooks Brothers.. My black pants are from a Thick and Thieves suit; the contrast between them and my khakis is extreme.
Anyways, just looking for any general advice, some wardrobe staples I can add that will mix well with what I've already got.
Thanks for reading and for any thoughts.
What essentials can I add to my work wardrobe?
