I'm in need of a good charcoal stripe suit. My local store is having a Southwick and Samuelsohn trunk show in September. Essentially the MTM Southwick will be about the same price as an OTR Samuelsohn. The only details I would get on the Southwick are side vents, pick stitching, and a choice of lining. It would be in the Vitale Barberis fabric (110's I believe). The Sameulsohn is their "Performance" model and already comes with pick stitching and side vents, has standard lining, and is, of course full canvas. It is a Loro Piana "Extreme" fabric (120's I think). So, which would you choose:
Option A:
Southwick MTM
- half canvas
- side vent
- pick stitching
- upgraded lining
- VBC fabric
Option B:
Samuelsohn OTR:
- full canvas
- side vent
- pick stitching
- standard lining
- LP fabric
Perhaps the Southwick would fit a little better but I feel that the Samuelsohn is a better made garment. Not sure what to go with here.
Help me pick a suit
