I wanted to buy some ralph lauren v neck t shirts such as those on ebay that have the polo such as these

First off, does anyone know if the sizing for these t shirts are true? I did read that the armpit to armpit length is 21' which is a bit big for a small. The thing is i don't want the shirt to be too long length wise as you don't want to wear a long t shirt. I really like these v neck t shirts and the colors they have. Anyone wear these could tell me if its pretty true to fit? They don't have any XS but i'm wondering if the small might be a bit too big because its a classic t shirt.
Also i assume t shirts like this are authentic right since a person like this has tons of positive reviews and almost no negative reviews if any? I do know there are many fake polo ralph lauren clothing and other brands like lacoste etc. Does any know if they sell this shirt in the stores such as department stores or at ralph lauren stores whether its in macys or the regular stores? I did saw a few of these shirts at marshalls, century 21 but they were crew neck... which i don't like and the color isn't one i prefer. The sizing for those such as small and medium look true to fit though so wondering if these v necks are pretty true to fit.
I know ralph lauren has many types of fit such as classic, custom and i believe they have standard fit now as well though thats mostly dress shirts.
Do they sell these shirts for $40 at ralph lauren?
Would it be best to try clothing at ralph lauren then if i don't buy there, just buy it online? I know clothes online are sold much less than at the retail stores. However my issue is i don't know if a t shirt at ralph lauren might be a different version than like this one on ebay.
Would like if anyone can give feedback on this. Also... the price for this shirt is pretty reasonable right on ebay? Again i'm guessing it cost $40 at the actual store at polo ralph lauren.
