I recently purchased a suit from My Tailor. It's my second. After some alterations to the waist it fits really well and the fabric is very nice. I estimate from talking with my Brooks Brothers salesman that a similar suit from their mtm program would likely run at least $400 more.
That said I noticed a few disappointing differences from my earlier and much less expensive My Tailor suit.
First, no surgeon's cuffs. Not even fake buttonholes. Just some buttons sewn on the sleeve.
Second, the main button that is actually used to fasten the suit is sewn on rather than anchored with a small metal back (it will take a violent fight or act of G&d to remove the top button on my first My Tailor Suit).
Just wanted to share and see if anyone had similar thoughts. I am a little disappointed as those were two very nice touches I appreciated on the My Tailor suit I bought 6 years ago.
My Tailor - quality decline?
