I'm happily breaking in my new pair of AE Dalton. The only issue I am having is that I cannot get enough shoelace tension on the eyelets closest to the toes to get the eyelets to rest even close to flat. The eyelet leather sticks straight up near the toes.
Is this by design on the Dalton, and if not, any suggestions on how to get the eyelets to rest more or less flat?
Although I can get initial tension on the lower eyelets, by the time I get to tightening the upper ones, I've lost too much tension in the lower ones. Perhaps different laces? I'm using the ones that came with the boots.
