Design language for wardrobe

vendredi 18 septembre 2015

Hello All,

I was wondering if you might be able to assist me? I am attempting to build a wardrobe in the classic style. One of the things that I want this wardrobe to do is, at times, be able to communicate particular messages in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner. I've heard you have in the neighborhood of five seconds to make a subconscious impression on another person. I'm not necessarily looking for brands or designers (though I wouldn't object to them), but rather a design language that communicates these concepts and ideas most effectively in the classic style.

I realize this language varies with region, I'm in Dallas, Texas. The design messaging here is going to be slightly different than in New York, Boston, or Los Angeles. The messages I would like to convey are below and I realize that these may very well be different from one another so please treat these categories as separate.

1. A long history of wealth and success.
2. Vitality, fun, and energy.
3. Competence, stability, and trust.
4. Approachability, conviviality, and collegiality.
5. Raw power and imtimidation.

A side note: Where would exotic game skins (alligator, crocodile, ostrich, implala, water buffalo, elephant, etc.), fit in any of this messaging, if at all, or do exotic skins muddy the waters a bit?

thanks,
