After the recent discovery that my 12.5 D AE Leeds were too big, I've been trying to find a better fit.
The sales-person at a Chicago AE told me that I was a 12 B/C. I tried both a 12 B and a 11.5 C (both oxfords in the 5 last), but they were both too tight. On a hunch that my feet weren't completely swollen at the AE store, I went to Nordstrom where the sales-person told me that I was actually a 11.5 E (right foot) and a 12 D (left foot). I tried a 11.5 D and a 12 D (both 5 last oxfords) at Nordstom, and the 11.5 D felt short/tight while the 12 D felt pretty good.
Here's the issue. I bought a 12 C McAllister (5 last oxford) and a 12 D Lexington (5 last blucher) from the Shoe Bank. The 12 C is too tight and has given me toe cramps when wearing around the house. The 12 D feels good, but might not be "snug enough" in the quarter.
Should I be concerned that the 12 D blucher will become too loose after a few wears? And would a 12 C blucher be a better fit?
I guess I'm paranoid that I'll buy another too big shoe. Thanks in advance!
TL;DR A 5 last oxford in 11.5 D, 12 B, or 12 C is too tight. A 5 last oxford 12D is good. A 5 last blucher in a 12 D may not be snug enough (hard to tell). Should I go with a 12 D blucher or wait to find a 12 C?
