Forgive my indulgence by making this a separate thread rather than simply a post on this earlier one that I link here -

but it is both a continuation of that earlier discussion, which I've enjoyed very much, as well as some new ground. And in this new article by Torsten Grunwald he compares and contrasts a number of important issues regarding men's clothing in general, and bespoke tailoring in particular as he is fitted for a new suit..

And in this new article, he confirms that he is a big fellow as I suspected, and discusses the need for the client to be happy with what his tailor concocts. Among other important points -
1. A man must be comfortable both in and with his clothing.
2. Personal taste trumps fashion.
3. Tailors don't always know best.
4. Larger men need greater allowances. (I.e., if a man is a size 36, an added inch may do the trick, whereas if he's a 50, he may need to two or so.)
You can't be well dressed in clothing that isn't comfortable!
