Sporting Tracksuits

Dumb question here,

I may be doing some travel this winter, and it will be sports related. My coach and I will be traveling, probably partially with part private car, part Greyhound. Is it acceptable to have a tracksuit made with my name and club on it? I would probably be wearing it in transit between my hometown and bigger centers which are relatively close.

If I were to wear it in transit, can I just wear a basic tee or polo underneath. To be honest, it doesn't make sense to try to dress up a nylon jacket and a pair of windpants. If it's possible, I might have a winter jacket made with the same embellishments.

Can I wear a self-branded winter coat (some kind of inexpensive fleece or parka) over a track suit? Or should I just look for a regular winter coat in similar colors?

As I probably won't be playing in such a getup, should I opt for a self-branded sweatshirt and matching sweat pants? Or both? More than one?

If you saw somebody wearing a sweat suit in a restaurant, would you think, "Well that fellow is inappropriately dressed", or "Well, that fellow is on a sports team". I'm not talking about Denny's here.

I'd probably have the embroidery done by a local shop. There are a number of options. I'm talking about a tracksuit which is embroidered on the chest and somewhere on the leg of the pants. The sweatsuit would be similar. A winter coat would basically be a neat purchase, but it is relatively low priority..
