Large watches push left shirt cuff up about 2" so that left shirt and jacket sleeves don't hang naturally.
Smaller watches might solve the problem. Today, almost everyone has some version of the I phone, so checking the time may make the need for a watch for some people unnecessary.
For a nit picker, it seems a shame to mess up the line of a good, well tailored suit jacket.
