Random small holes in my Barbour

I seem to keep getting random holes in my Barbour.

My brother thinks it could be burns from cigar ash - I do smoke in it from time to time, and hot ash not interacting well with hydrocarbon impregnated cotton does seem possible.

If I leave the jacket out in freezing conditions, then put it on while cold, and thought if that could be cracking the fabric?
